How Long Does Branded Workwear Take to Produce?

Β

It's one of the first things businesses want to know: how quickly can I get this?

The straightforward answer for most orders at Brandify is 3–5 working days from artwork approval. But there are a few things that affect turnaround time, and it's worth understanding them before you order β€” especially if you're working to a deadline.

The typical timeline

Here's how a standard order usually runs:

Day 1 β€” Quote and artwork You send us your requirements and logo. We confirm pricing within 4 hours. If we need to digitise your logo for embroidery, that happens at this stage.

Day 1–2 β€” Artwork proof We send you a digital proof showing exactly how your logo will look on the garment β€” position, size, colours, and stitch style for embroidery. You review and approve it (or ask for changes β€” most proofs are approved first time).

Day 2–4 β€” Production Once the proof is approved, your order goes into production. Everything is done in-house at our Essex facility β€” embroidery, printing, heat transfer. No outsourcing, no waiting in someone else's queue.

Day 4–5 β€” Dispatch Your order is packed and dispatched via tracked courier. Most UK destinations receive delivery the next working day.

So from your first enquiry to garments in your hands, you're typically looking at 5–7 working days total. For straightforward reorders where the logo is already set up, this can be faster.

What can slow things down?

A few things can extend the timeline β€” and knowing them in advance means you can plan around them:

Artwork issues If your logo file is low resolution or needs significant rework, this adds time. The fix: send us your logo in advance of placing the order and we'll check it immediately. See our guide on artwork formats β†’

Proof revisions Most proofs are approved first time, but if you request changes β€” different positioning, size adjustment, colour tweak β€” each revision adds a day. We aim to turn revisions around the same day.

Individual personalisation Orders with individual names or job titles on each garment take longer to set up. Not much longer β€” but it's worth factoring in an extra day or two for large personalised orders.

Large orders A first-time order of 200 garments takes longer to produce than 20. We'll confirm the production timeline when you get your quote so there are no surprises.

Garment availability Occasionally a specific garment or colour is temporarily out of stock with our suppliers. We check availability before confirming your quote and will always flag any issues upfront.

Planning for a deadline

If you have a specific date you need the order by β€” a site start, an event, a new store opening β€” tell us when you enquire. We'll work backwards from that date and tell you the latest you can approve your proof and still hit the deadline.

For urgent orders, get in touch by phone on 01277 811 670 and we'll tell you honestly whether we can do it.

New orders vs reorders

Your first order always takes a little longer because we need to digitise your logo and get a proof approved. Once that's done, reorders are significantly faster. Your logo file is saved, your garment specification is on record, and we can often move straight to production with minimal back and forth.

This is one reason many businesses stay with us long term β€” the longer you work with us, the faster and simpler the process becomes.

What about screen printing and heat transfer?

Screen printing and heat transfer follow a similar timeline to embroidery. Screen printing requires a setup screen per colour, which is prepared at the start of the order. Heat transfer is often slightly faster as there's no screen preparation.

For very large print runs (500+ garments), lead times may extend slightly β€” we'll confirm when you enquire.
